The weekly radio show "This Week in the WCHA" features the BSU sweep last weekend over UMD.
And to think, the Beavers aren't even in the WCHA yet!
It's been a while since I've posted some tidbits...so here you go:
- BSU sweeps the CHA players of the week for the fourth time this season (and just the 8th time in the history of the league!). Ian Lowe (offensive), Brad Hunt (defensive) and Jordan George (rookie) are the players of the week.
- BSU is back in the top ten in the polls...#6 in the USAToday/USA Hockey Magazine poll, #7 in the USCHO.com/CBS College Sports poll.
- runninwiththedogs.blogspot.com must still be too upset with the Dogs...still no Saturday reaction.
- BSU would LOVE to sell out the final five games at the Glas...get your tickets NOW...218-755-3993. The Glas is going to be missed next year...let's send it out in style!

Turns out, some people need to be talked off the ledge about "their" Bulldogs.
This from runninwiththedogs.blogspot.com...
It's just another game to us, but this is like their pathetic little national championship.
Or this from runninwiththedogs.blogspot.com...
We've been swept by Bemidji despite about a million chances to just CLEAR THE PUCK. No post tonight. I'm too angry
Or this from USCHO...
I hate to say it but Bemidji was the better team last night. It's tough, though, because Bemidji sort of reminds me of Mankato. Not in their game styles, but just how the style of hockey they play throws UMD off it's game. They trap up front, making it mighty difficult for us to get decent flow.
When was the last time a Tom Serratore coached team "trapped"????
Some people, though, liked BSU this weekend.
This on USCHO...
That was the best I've ever felt after being swept.... Excited for you guys sweeping the current #1 team in the WCHA in your last season in the CHA. I know Bemidji has been wanting in to the WCHA for years and has been overlooked many years...and we're still #1 for now... tough schedule ahead. I hope BSU is that good and UMD can remain on that hot-streak
Or this from Goon's World
I have been telling people all season long that BSU is a good hockey team, they are not over rated. I have been told by fans of WCHA teams that I am delusional and clueless for backing BSU. So now BSU is 3-0 against teams ranked in the top 5. What else do the Beavers have to do to get some respect?
College hockey sure does have it's fanatics!
That game last night was one of the craziest games I've ever seen..either in person or on TV.
Here are a couple of notes about the game:
- The archive is up to the right. If you'd prefer to save the game to your own computer, it's available here
- Sorry for the technical problems last night. The internet at the DECC wasn't very good last night. We send the games back to the station on the internet to improve audio quality. That's great when it works. Last night didn't even come close to working! We'll work on a solution this week.
- UMD can't be very happy to see BSU come into the WCHA. Bemidji State has won their fair share of games in this series lately. And to think, the two teams get to meet at least twice a year from here on out
- My voice may need to rest for the whole week. I don't think I've ever yelled that loud for a goal call in my life. So much for not being a complete homer!
